The Hill’s hosted the most perfect rehearsal dinner under bistro lights in the side yard of my parent’s rental, The Cape Fear House. The waterfront views made the perfect setting for a Low Country Boil. After the dinner, we invited any guest who had arrived in town over for drinks and desserts.
Tyler and I love to reminisce about this night — from his Dad’s heartfelt speech, to the handmade desserts, to being able to spend time talking with friends and family — I can’t recommend hosting a welcome event enough!

My mom and Granny Holbrook worked tirelessly on the desserts for the Welcome Event. We chose desserts which were special to each of us. From Grandmom Jones’ Chocolate Cake & Butterfinger Cake to Granny Holbrook’s Chocolate Delight to Tyler’s favorite, Ms. Dee’s Carrot cake, there were so many different options to choose from.
