When you don't

credit //  morgan jones
"Letting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet
Every moment of my wandering
Never changes what You see"
........
"When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!"

Yes, no and not yet. Three sayings that carry very different meanings. Three sayings that a person will hear at different times in their lives. Hearing this song by Lauren Daigle has become a daily occurrence. I've heard it in my car, on my Pandora at work, at a concert, in a Chickfila and countless other times. It has happened enough for me to finally take a moment, listen to the words.

It is a challenge. A challenge that I was given over the past year to lay down the idea of "control" and plans, because that is all they arean idea. Anxiety is not an easy thing, it can be all-consuming and overwhelming. It's that drop in your stomach, raised heart rate and racing mind, which in my case, stems from trying to plan or control something that is and will always be out of my hands. Not every prayer is answered with a yes.

"When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You."

Yes. No. Not Yet.
